Betamax was self initiated concept that started in 2003 as part of the Shorts International Film Festival. It turned into a regular night life event about the relation between electronic music, video art and animation. The event was held at various locations in Amsterdam (OT301, Hans Brinker, Sugar Factory) with different experimental (inter)national line ups of Live acts, DJ’s and VJ’s. For special, early evening screening we always teamed up with international DVD labels like RUGA (Barcelona), IdN (HongKong) and GAS (Tokyo).
